In July 2019, ServiceNow introduced the New York version, their second major release of this year. As usual for the second release of each year, a host of new functionalities has been introduced across the platform.
What are the breakthrough innovations that the New York edition brings to the popular platform? We have compiled the latest products and features and put a short summary of each one to help you get a clearer picture of the platform’s improved capabilities.
Guided Application Creator
Guided Application Creator is a feature that helps users set up an application and use it immediately. Developers can add more functions later and further develop the app using Team Development, Flow Designer, and Studio. The feature enables you to designate data tables, define roles, create application records, design an application for various user experiences, activate the legacy application creator (optionally), and allow global application development.
Investment Funding
The Investment Funding application is there to help plan and manage your investments efficiently. The application supports domain searation, and includes an integration with PPM (Project Portfolio Management), continuous funding, and top-down and bottom-up funding.
Now Mobile
The Now Mobile app can be used for performing a wide range of tasks, such as accessing company resources, managing tasks, and submitting requests and incidents. In new instances, the application will be active by default. When upgrading from a previous ServiceNow release, you’ll need to activate it.
Dynamic Translation
The Dynamic Translation feature allows users to translate dynamically entered text for a seamless experience. It includes dynamic translation APIs, translation configuration, dynamic translation on forms, and an IntegrationHub Spoke for dynamic translation. However, you will need a Professional subscription to gain access to the feature.
Mobile Employee Onboarding app
By using the Mobile Employee Onboarding app, your company can provide an end-to-end, guided experience for new hires, showing them what they need to do. New hires will be able to view relevant content at different phases of their onboarding process, ask related questions, and complete onboarding tasks from anywhere.
Vendor Manager Workspace
Vendor managers can monitor and manage vendor performance, data, and information via an integrated user experience, thanks to the Vendor Manager Workspace. Those with the admin role can also configure vendor score metrics and weight, as well as add and define new vendors. To activate this feature, you’ll need a separate subscription.
ITOM Health and ITOM Visibility
ITOM Health and ITOM Visibility are both parts of the IT Operations Management module, which is designed to improve your enterprise’s visibility into its services and infrastructure, maximize operational agility, and prevent service outages. They include Event Management, Operational Intelligence, Discovery, Service Mapping, Pattern deployment for IT Operations Management, and Subscription for IT Operations Management applications.
Instance Data Replication
Thanks to the data replication capability, users can copy data made on one instance to one or more other instances. They can replicate data into various tables and even modify it during replication. To activate this feature, you’ll need a separate subscription and help from the ServiceNow staff.
