ServiceNow customers get additional value because they have the option to integrate various third-party applications. Visit the ServiceNow Store to see all available ServiceNow Integrations. In the ServiceNow Products tab, you will see core applications (such as Security Incident Response), while the Certified Apps tab is where you will see all the integration add-ons.
ServiceNow is a robust platform that expands past the IT infrastructural landscape to include various business, HR, customer service, and security apps. They can now communicate with each other easily because of the platform that acts as a communication interface across channels.
How to Install a Security Operations Integration?
Before you even begin with activating any security operations integration, you can only do it with an admin role. Also, you will need a HI account for store installations and permission to request applications for those instances under consideration.
Step 1. Open your ServiceNow dashboard and go to Security Operations > Integrations > Integration Configurations. You will then see configuration tiles for the integration and a Configure button shown by the two Email Parser tiles (HP and McAfee). Email parser integrations don’t need to be installed from the Store because they’re included in the base system.
Step 2. Find the desired integration, then click Open Page, and the selected integration will be visible in the ServiceNow Store.
Step 3. To review the app dependencies listed, click View Dependencies. In case an Integration has core application dependencies to which your company is not entitled, you need to obtain entitlements, download dependency plugins, and activate the applications. To do that, follow these instructions, then return to this procedure.
Step 4. Click Get, and you’ll see the Terms and Conditions window. Click Continue, and you’ll see a Purchase screen.
Step 5. Determine which instances you need integration to be available on, manage notifications, and then select the Store Addendum checkbox. Click Get. If you’re downloading an application that requires approval from the vendor, then click Request App. You need to enter the name of the instance and the reason for the request, and an email with detailed installation instructions will be sent to you. If you’re downloading an app for purchase, then click Buy.
Step 6. Go to System Applications > All Available Applications > All to see the list of available applications. Select the desired application and click Install, and your integration will be installed on your instance automatically.
Differences between Supported Integrations
Most integrations included in the ServiceNow’s base system operate in the same way, and they require little to no setup. However, some integrations require separate steps for setting up, entering an API key manually, and setting API credentials. Other integrations support different rate limits and different sets of scan and lookup types.
Integrations, such as Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, and Threat Intelligence, are all included with the Security Operations applications. As for third-party integrations, you must ensure that you have licenses or entitlements to the application and other dependent applications. You must activate the application’s dependency plugin on your instance, and then activate and run the application.ServiceNow users who experience issues with third-party ServiceNow security integrations can reach out to Finite Partners for assistance!
