Stay Social and Distant with Live Feed

“Live Feed” is a very exciting feature that provides a social platform for its users through the ServiceNow instance.  Social platform? ServiceNow? Yes! You read that correctly. The Live Feed feature in ServiceNow is a social IT application created for users to post, like, and share content. The best part is you can access it right from the homepage on your User Interface. Like Facebook, live feed encourages users to not only engage one-on-one but also join groups and teams to collaborate and stay connected.

Users can access Live Feed with just a few clicks! The Live Feed feature can be customized to be accessible right from the dashboard on their User Interface. This creates a simple and convenient way to follow records, update tables, and share news within the organization.  If the user prefers not to add Live Feed to their homepage, they can navigate to the application by searching for Live Feed in the Navigation bar and selecting the module.

There are many benefits to using Live Feed.  One interesting feature is the record feeds, which allow users to work on tasks and other records right from their User Interface.  This provides a place for users to see updates on multiple records, help improve communication between users working on the same records, and save history.  All work notes and comments recorded in the records will be saved in the journal fields.

Another Live Feed feature worth noting is the ability to customize a profile to fit specific preferences. Options like adding a profile photo and a brief description can help a user be creative and make it their own. Users can also find, follow, and add other users within the organization.

Live Feed offers a variety of bonus features as well. For example, users can create different teams or groups dedicated to a department such as HR or Software and share content specific to that group’s interest. This application is extremely user-friendly, offering ease and simplicity to feed navigation, post writing, and content sharing. Sharing links and images, as well as utilizing tags and @mentions, can all be done with just a click of a button.  Another useful feature available to users is the creation of polls.  Polls encourage other users to engage and vote on specific topics or questions. Users can also tag messages using hashtags, combine hashtags for better searching and filtering of a message, unfollow, or delete any content on a feed that they wish to remove.

Now keep in mind, although this is a social IT application, Live Feed will be utilized in a professional environment which translates to keeping all social engagement, content, and any other activities appropriate at all times.
